Sara Hendrick is a doctoral candidate in Organization and Management at the Goizueta Business School of Emory University. She earned a bachelor's degree in Oceanography from the United States Naval Academy and an MBA from the University of San Diego. Prior to graduate school, she worked professionally as a Surface Warfare Officer in San Diego. Sara’s research aims to understand the ways in which gender norms hold men and women back and how workplace policies can influence gender parity. Her current work focuses on the impact of unemployment on well-being among men and women. She finds that among people collecting unemployment benefits, parenthood improves well-being for women, but worsens well-being for men.
"I chose Goizueta because my research interests aligned with multiple professors. Here, I am able to learn different methods and collaborate with professors to inform my research."
