Programs

  • HackATL

    A student hackathon where participants are given 48 hours to develop a prototype and pitch to judges, angel investors, and venture capitalists.HackATL is the most prominent business hackathon in the southeast, attracting hundreds of students from dozens of top universities to compete for $8K+.
    Participants are given 48 hours to develop a prototype and pitch to judges, angel investors, and venture capitalists. After HackATL, participants are given access to further resources and funding to take ideas to life.
  • Hatchery

    The Hatchery is a resource center funded in part by GBS. The CEI serves as its primary liaison point with the business school. The Hatchery is focused on supporting student innovators. Together, the CEI and the Hatchery co-facilitate programs like the Emory Goizueta Startup Launch Accelerator. At the same time, the Hatchery also runs two of their own programs including The Hatchery Incubator (academic year), focused on helping innovators move their ideas to prototype from first user to first customer, and The Hatchery Summer Accelerator, which works with teams on problem identification through early product-market fit.
  • Nucleate

    Nucleate is a student-led organization that represents the largest global community of bio-innovators. Its mission is to educate and empower scientists and business students and provide education and tools for biotech talent to start new ventures. Nucleate runs an “Activator Program” which begins with “mutual matching” team formation phase, followed by workshops and mentor office hours, culminating in a final pitch showcase before world-renowned judges.

Founders & Growers

Creating, leading and growing scalable new ventures

  • Pitch the Professors

    Goizueta students are invited to apply to pitch their startup concept. Every week, 2 student startups pitch to 2 Goizueta professors, who provide feedback and recommendations, to help turn it into reality. 6 students per semester win a spot at the Atlanta Tech Village to collaborate with other entrepreneurs.
  • Startup Launch Accelerator

    The EG SLA helps early-stage founders through a defined process that allows teams to rapidly take their ideas and test them with customers, as well as change and build their business model to move the startup forward.
    Participation is open to the entire Emory community including students, faculty, staff, and alumni; at least one Emory community member per team qualifies the entire team. All teams are required to attend weekly sessions, in addition to also being highly encouraged to meet with the EG SLA lead facilitator during posted office hours to discuss their business and progress as founders.
  • Emory Entrepreneurship Summit

    The 3-day summit involves speakers, workshops and a pitch competition known as “Pitch the Summit” and is typically held during the spring semester in March.
    Pitch the Summit is an opportunity to provide Emory undergraduate and graduate students with the opportunity to learn how to effectively pitch an idea for a new venture. Winning individuals and teams receive guidance, financial support, and in-kind contributions to move their venture forward.

  • Peachtree Minority Venture Fund

    Underrepresented minority founders receive less than 3% of US venture capital investment. A large part of that issue is that typical venture capital investors are White/Asian and have very little exposure to underrepresented minority markets. Peachtree seeks to play a role in changing these narratives.
