How it Works

The Executive Coaching Diploma consists of two parts: the Executive Coaching Foundations Certificate (3 modules) and the Advanced Executive Coaching Certificate (3 modules). Modules 1-5 are delivered in a dynamic, interactive online format to maximize impact and minimize career disruption. Module 6 will be delivered on-campus to enhance coaching practice and cohort interaction. In addition, there is an interim learning curriculum in between each module which may consist of webinars, learning circles, peer coaching, client practicum, and/or reading (estimated 7-10 hours per interim module).
  • Executive Coaching Foundations Certificate

  • Foundational Coaching Skills

    Module 1: October 16-17, 2020
This immersive, experiential and interactive module focuses on teaching and enhancing fundamental coaching skills using proven coaching techniques. Much time will be spent practicing coaching using real-life scenarios and receiving feedback from peers, instructors, and assigned executive coaches. This module is designed to expand your understanding of your coaching style and approach to working with clients. (Friday, October 16 | 1-5:30 p.m. & Saturday, October 17 | 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.)
  • Mindset. Toolset. Skillset.

    Module 2: November 6-7, 2020
This module offers a continuation and consolidation of the basic theory of coaching (mindset) and an expansion of the range of responses and options available to executive coaches (toolset) and continued practice to deepen your abilities to coach effectively (skillset). (Friday, November 6 | 1-5:30 p.m. & Saturday, November 7 | 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.)
  • Client Growth

    Module 3: December 4-5, 2020
This module focuses on designing behavioral practices and facilitating client growth. Using reflection and feedback to accelerate your coaching, you will spend time practicing coaching using real-life scenarios and receiving feedback from peers, instructors, and assigned executive coaches. (Friday, December 4 | 1-5:30 p.m. & Saturday, December 5 | 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.)
  • Advanced Executive Coaching Certificate

  • Brain-Based Coaching

    Module 4: March 2021
This module applies the unique and powerful lens of neuroscience to executive behavior and leadership style. You will learn about the general principles of the brain and practice advanced, specific, brain-friendly coaching inquiries to generate greater insights and deeper motivations for your clients to create new habits and achieve their goals. This module is designed to expand your knowledge about the general principles of the brain, the coach, and coachee brain to optimize coaching engagements.
  • Family Systems

    Module 5: April 2021
This module provides you with an understanding of the role and impact of family experience and systems in human behavior. A person’s family history has been described as one of the most impactful and least examined influences in psychology. This module offers a comprehensive framework and vocabulary for understanding family dynamics and the tools necessary to help clients explore, understand, and cope effectively with their individual history as it affects their personal and professional lives.
  • Psychodynamic & Multi-perspective Coaching

    Module 6: May 2021
This module will introduce fundamental concepts of psychoanalytic theory to enrich the practice of executive coaching. While this is not training on how to conduct psychotherapy, the teaching will focus on how you can use a psychoanalytic perspective and tools to enhance the coaching process, understand the dynamics of maintaining a helping relationship, and achieve more lasting change by addressing unconscious dynamics and conflicts. The concluding portion of the final module will consist of a review of all of the various coaching models presented in the program and an opportunity to integrate them in a final case conference discussion.
