The Master of Business for Veterans is a one-year graduate business degree designed specifically for military leaders who want to translate their military experience into business success. The program combines a rigorous foundation in business with hands-on learning, professional development, career planning, and a community of fellow veterans and military leaders.

Rather than starting over, you'll build on the leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills you've developed through military service while gaining the business knowledge and network to take on your next challenge.

The Master of Business for Veterans is designed for experienced military leaders at different stages of their careers, including veterans, active-duty service members, and members of the National Guard and Reserve.

You don't have to be leaving the military to benefit from the program. The Master of Business for Veterans is designed to help military leaders apply their experience to whatever comes next.

Your military experience is a valuable foundation, but employers may not always immediately understand how military leadership, operations, strategy, and decision-making translate to a business environment.

The Master of Business for Veterans helps you make those connections. Through business coursework, professional development, mentoring, and hands-on experiences, you'll learn how to communicate the value of your military experience and apply those skills to business challenges.

The Master of Business for Veterans is purpose-built for military leaders and can be completed in one year. Rather than spending two years in a traditional MBA program, you'll develop a focused foundation in the core areas of business while learning alongside fellow veterans and military leaders.

The program also addresses a challenge unique to many military professionals: translating the leadership, operational, and problem-solving experience you've gained in the military into the language and context of business.

The Master of Business for Veterans provides a broad foundation across the core disciplines of business, including finance, marketing, analytics, operations, strategy, and leadership. You'll learn how these functions work together and how to apply business concepts to complex, real-world challenges.

The curriculum is designed to complement the leadership and operational experience you already bring while giving you the business knowledge to approach decisions from a broader organizational perspective.

You'll learn alongside fellow military leaders who understand the experiences and perspectives that come with military service. Your cohort brings together people from different branches, military specialties, leadership experiences, and career backgrounds, creating a collaborative environment where you can learn from one another.

You'll also become part of the broader Goizueta and Emory communities, expanding your relationships beyond the Master of Business for Veterans cohort.

Yes. The every-other-weekend format is designed to allow students to continue working while earning their degree. Classes are held on Fridays and Saturdays every other week, providing time between sessions to manage professional, military, and personal commitments.

The Master of Business for Veterans is completed in one year and follows an every-other-weekend format, with classes held on Fridays and Saturdays, typically 8am - 5:40pm. The program begins with a four-day onboarding bootcamp.

All onboarding, bootcamp, and class sessions require in-person attendance, so students should plan accordingly when considering work, military, family, and other commitments.

Every Master of Business for Veterans student is offered a veteran mentor with business experience. Your mentor can provide perspective on career planning, transitioning to civilian business, and applying your military experience in a professional environment.

Mentoring adds another perspective to the academic and career resources available throughout the program.

Your military leadership and professional experience provide an important foundation for the program, while the curriculum helps you develop the business knowledge to apply that experience in a new context.

Yes. The Master of Business for Veterans isn't only for military-to-civilian career transitions. It's also designed for veterans and military personnel who are already working in the civilian sector and want to strengthen their business knowledge, expand their leadership capabilities, or prepare for their next opportunity.

Helping military leaders translate their experience into the business world is central to the Master of Business for Veterans experience.

You'll develop business knowledge while also learning how to communicate your military leadership and experience in ways that resonate with business employers. Professional planning, mentoring, hands-on business experiences, and career development are integrated throughout the program to help you identify opportunities and prepare for your next career move.

Yes. The Master of Business for Veterans provides a foundation in the business disciplines needed to launch, manage, and grow an organization. You'll build knowledge across areas such as finance, marketing, operations, strategy, and leadership while learning alongside other experienced military leaders.

Whether you're exploring a startup, acquiring a business, or growing an existing venture, the program can help you develop the business knowledge and perspective to move your idea forward.

Students must use available Veteran Affairs (VA) benefits. These include the Post 911/GI Bill®, the Yellow Ribbon Program, the Veteran Readiness & Employment services (Chapter 31), etc.

GI Bill® is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Students using any kind of military education or VA benefits must complete the Emory VA Certification Request Form each semester to receive VA benefits. The VA Compliance office will send a reminder to complete this form at the appropriate time. Students are encouraged to complete this form as soon as possible after receiving the email to avoid disruption to receiving their benefits and enrollment.

You should expect to see your military education benefits applied in the following way:

• Deposits are applied to your student account
• Tuition & fees are added to student accounts after registering for classes each semester
• Goizueta’s Yellow Ribbon contribution will be put in your account approximately 1 week following the close of Add/Drop
• In 4-6 weeks, Emory will receive payment from the VA based on your eligibility
• Once all payments are applied to your account, any remaining balance will be returned to you by check or by direct deposit (if applicable).

The full Master of Business for Veterans program tuition and all university fees are included in the calculations for the Yellow Ribbon program.

The following expenses are not included in the calculations for Yellow Ribbon funding:

• University provided Health Insurance (not needed by most)
• Travel expenses to and from campus to attend class
• Books & supplies
• Meals not provided by Goizueta

All domestic students are eligible to apply for Federal Financial Aid through the Emory Financial Aid Office by completing the FAFSA form.
