This one-of-a-kind, highly-curated program will give you the jumpstart you need to seamlessly transition from military service to a career in business. In a small cohort of veteran students, you’ll build your foundation in business knowledge, expand on your leadership training, and apply your skills in real-world scenarios with real clients. To top it off, you’ll do it all with deep support. Faculty who understand the military environment and how to apply your skills and where to supplement them, career development that focuses on where you’re headed and how best to get there, and even guidance from a personal mentor who’s both a military and business veteran that knows the ropes.

The Master in Business for Veterans program is ideal for those who have:
• Active or previous military service (military veterans, active duty, National Guard, and Reserve Personnel)
• 3 years of military service and leadership experience
• A bachelor's degree
• Come prepared to make valuable contributions in the classroom
• Demonstrated the ability to excel, lead, learn, and grow

Application Information

Goizueta requires that all Master in Business for Veteran applicants complete our application in full to be reviewed for admission. As military veteran, there is no application fee.

For candidates ready to take the next step, start your online application. It is not necessary to complete your application in one sitting. Until you are ready to submit, you may access it from any computer using the username and password that you create when you begin.

Application Opens Aug 1

A one- or two-page rĂ©sumĂ© containing your employment and education background must be uploaded to your application. The employment section on the rĂ©sumĂ© should include locations, titles, and dates, starting with your most recent job and should highlight leadership responsibilities. The education section should include dates of attendance and degrees received.

An official copy of your military service record that details your enlistment/appointment, duty stations and assignments, training, qualifications, performance, and awards and medals.

We accept a scanned copy of your university transcripts for evaluative purposes. Acceptable documents must include the university/college name, your name, degree conferred with date (if applicable), grade point average and all courses with grades received. We require transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions attended. Be sure to include a record of your degree.

If you are admitted, you will be required to submit official transcripts at the time of your enrollment deposit. Please plan ahead.

The essays are an important part of your Master in Business application because they give you the opportunity to tell the Admissions Committee more about yourself. To go beyond your resume bullet points and share more of your story. Please complete all the required essays below and follow the word limits provided. Your essays should be written in 10- or 12-point, Arial font and double-spaced; please do not include the essay title on the page. Upload your essay answers, numbered and in order, as one pdf document.

Essay 1. Post-Graduation Personal and Professional Career Goals:  Define your short term (five years) post-graduation personal and professional career goals. How are your professional strengths, past experience, and personal attributes aligned with these goals? (300 word limit)

Essay 2. Leadership in Business: The business school is named for Roberto C. Goizueta, a former Chairman and CEO of the Coca-Cola Company who led the organization for 16 years, extending its global reach, quadrupling consumption, building brand responsibility, creating unprecedented shareholder wealth, and demonstrating a commitment to values and positive impact on society. Roberto Goizueta's core values guide us in educating principled leaders to have a positive influence on business and society. Provide a specific example of your leadership and explain what you learned about yourself through the experience. (300 word limit)

Essay 3. Why Goizueta and why are you pursuing a Master in Business degree? What are you looking to gain from Goizueta's Master in Business for Veterans program, and how do you see yourself contributing to the Goizueta community? (200 word limit)

As part of the application, we require two letters of recommendation. We prefer that these recommendations are professional in nature. Please be thoughtful when selecting your recommenders, and make sure that you choose at least one person who knows you well in your current position such as a direct supervisor, project manager or client. Your recommender should be able to answer the following questions about you:

  • Please indicate to which group you are comparing this candidate (e.g., co-worker, masters degree applicant, etc.)
  • What characteristics or attributes best describe the applicant?
  • In what area is the applicant most exceptional?
  • In what area(s) does the applicant need improvement? Describe the applicant's awareness of these areas and response to constructive feedback.
  • How would you describe the applicant's interpersonal skills and the impression they make in meetings, presentations, or other interactions? Is the applicant effective when working in a team?

As part of the online application, you will have the option of sending your recommendation requests in the form of an online survey. You may send the recommendation request through the online application at any time by entering their contact information, including their email address, and clicking the box that says, "Send to recommender."

The admissions interview offers you the opportunity to explain more in depth your educational, career, and military experiences to date, and to elaborate on your post-degree career plans. We are interested in both your professional accomplishments, as well as your leadership and community achievements. The interview is similar to a professional job interview, and business attire is appropriate. The interview may occur at any point in the application process, but your file will not be considered complete until the interview has taken place. Interviews are currently offered online via Zoom.
