Biography

Alicia E. Sierra currently serves as Director for Human Resources and Diversity for Goizueta Business School. In this role, she leads the human resources programs and strategy for Goizueta Business School for approximately 150 staff members and over 200 student employees. She also oversees the diversity and inclusion efforts at Goizueta. As a member of the Leadership Team, she reports directly to the Dean. Prior to her HR role, she served as both Director and Assistant Dean for Diversity and Community Initiatives. In these roles, she developed and implement Goizueta’s Diversity strategy. Alicia has been at Emory for over 27 years. in the Rollins School of Public Health as Director of Student Services in 1991. In 1995, she joined Goizueta Business School and has served in various roles in the MBA Admissions Office. In her last role in Admissions, she served as Associate Director of MBA Admissions and Manager for Diversity Recruitment. During her tenure at Goizueta, she has developed partnerships and collaborated with students, faculty, professional organizations, companies, and other universities to ensure that Goizueta’s MBA programs have a diverse student body. In addition, she led the development of the Inside Goizueta Diversity Conference, which is Goizueta Flagship diversity recruitment program. She was also a key figure in Goizueta’s selection to the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management, where she served as a Board Member for two years and Alternate Board Representative for over 10 years. Alicia holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism/Public Relations from Florida A&M University and a Masters of Science in Higher Education Administration from The Florida State University. She is also a 2008 graduate of Emory’s Excellence Through Leadership (ETL) Program. Alicia is married to Elliot Sierra, Sr. and the mother of two sons, Elliot Christopher and Ian Michael.
