Biography

Originally from Houston, Texas, Catherine arrived at Goizueta after completing her first two years at Oxford College of Emory University. Catherine quickly realized Emory was a place she could learn and grow. “The opportunities at Emory are endless. Emory fosters an environment that challenges its students to not only develop but act upon curiosity to grow intellectually, personally, and professionally.”

Catherine appreciated the diversity she found on both campuses. “Even through simple interactions I am able to witness how each and every individual within our community holds a commitment to creating an environment that allows everyone to feel safe and welcome with their unique backgrounds, interests and values.” This culture allowed Catherine to easily make friends and connect with her peers. “Coming from the Oxford campus and now attending Goizueta, I have always felt that Emory is an intimate community that lends itself to honest and ever-lasting interactions and relationships.”

Once accepted into the BBA program, Catherine hit the ground running. “Not only have I had the opportunity to become involved in various initiatives, but I have also been inspired to both continue improving past initiatives and lead new ones that foster growth and inclusivity for our community.” Catherine joined the BBA Student Council as a junior representative, and then was elected president of the BBA Council for the 2019-2020 term.

Her interest in government and leadership carried over to her professional experience, when she spent a summer as a legislative intern with the U.S. House of Representatives. She also completed internships with Bank of America in Charlotte, N.C. and The Coca-Cola Company in Atlanta.

After graduation, Catherine plans to utilize the network of peers, professors and alumni she found at both Oxford and Goizueta. “A general goal of mine, regardless of where I find myself, is to always be amongst genuine and passionate individuals.”
