Biography

With a wide variety of interests, Atlanta-native Carl was able to find what he was looking for in the business school at Emory. Through programs and clubs, Carl has been able to build upon his skillset to further his goals and future career.

Not only was Carl able to join Alpha Kappa Psi as the vice president of technology and revamp the club’s IT infrastructure, he was also able to join ASCEND Leadership as the executive vice president. “I have been at the forefront of several of the club's strategic initiatives, including case competitions, the establishment of an investment group, new inclusion initiatives for historically underrepresented demographics, as well as strengthening partnership relationships with other business school clubs like Code Zero and RISE.”

His involvement has not stopped there. He has also joined Machine Learning @ Emory, HackEmory, Emory Esports, as well as been involved with the Emory Badminton Club and Emory Wind Ensemble. He also plans to be a student coach for the BBA Career Management Center starting in the fall.

Although entrepreneurship is not his main focus, he finds value in exploring the clubs and activities offered through the business school. “I have participated in EEVM HackATLs. While entrepreneurship is not my most prominent interest, attending EEVM events, taking Entrepreneurial Private Equity, as well as two more entrepreneurship classes while abroad have helped me further develop my aspirations for entrepreneurship further down my career.”

With a strong drive to get more involved, Carl’s interests went beyond the walls of Goizueta and drove him to Emory’s study abroad program. “I studied abroad in Vienna, Austria because I wanted to experience life living in Europe. I gained a much better understanding of the culture, accomplishments and struggles of various cultures around the world, as well as an on-the-spot problem solving skillset.”
