Biography

While there are many factors that influence a student’s decision to enter the Master of Finance program at Goizueta, having a robust and well-rounded curriculum is usually near the top of the list. This was the case for India-native Sidhant Mattha.

“I read the curriculum in this program, and it was really interesting because it included fintech, and it also included the coding and tech side of finance,” he says. “That was really interesting because a lot of universities do not offer that.”

After graduation in 2019 with a Bachelor in Science in finance, Sidhant started working as an equity research analyst in India. After reading about Goizueta’s masters in finance degree, he determined adding to his skillset could help him in the next steps of his career.

“Because I was working as a hard-core financial analyst, I thought that a little bit of coding would give me an extra edge in the financial world,” he says.

During his time in the program, Sidhant enjoyed learning from the professors, gaining valuable skills, and participating in real-world scenarios by working through actual problems.

“Currently, we are pitching sales, and I think that course will help us gain confidence in talking to clients,” he says. “I think in the finance industry, client facing jobs are the most important jobs, so if you gain confidence from the sales and practicum courses, I think it will help you in the future.”

While Sidhant focused on his schooling, there’s no question being so far from home proved challenging. However, he quickly found a warm and welcoming community in his cohort. “We have diverse backgrounds. We come from different worlds and different lifestyles,” Sidhant says. “I learned a lot about different people and a different life so it was really wonderful to work with them.”
