Biography
In the ever-changing world of technology, Sandrine Bakuramutsa knew she needed to adapt. The Rwanda native was working as a data analyst for HelloFresh but felt the industry was growing at too fast a pace for her current skill set. “Within my role, I realized that the industry was growing really fast,” she says. “I needed to acquire more technical skills to keep up and to become more competent as an employee to be able to make an impact.”
Sandrine entered Goizueta’s MS in Business Analytics program and has enjoyed connecting her technical skills to the business world. Through class projects and working with clients to solve real-world problems through data, Sandrine feels better prepared for her career ahead. “It makes me confident that when I go out there and start working for a company, I'll be able to connect my technical skills to the real world and be able to make informed decisions,” Sandrine says. “I think that is going to make me more impactful as an employee.”
The program encourages students to work on teams, something Sandrine feels is important in the business world. “Part of the program that I enjoy is being able to work in teams, which is really a reflection of what a business is like,” she says. “I know I'm going to meet people from different backgrounds and working with them is something I get to practice in the program.”
The 10-month program is designed to be a fast-paced learning environment for students, helping them get back into the workforce as soon as possible. “It has made me realize my ability to adapt to challenging situations,” she says. “I think that's a skill that I'm going to need as I go forward in the data science career.”
