Biography

I chose to pursue a One-Year MBA to develop my career without leaving the workforce for too long. I want to enter the Healthcare industry, and based on my professional experience I knew I needed the industry expertise to make a successful career change. Goizueta’s Healthcare concentration provides me with the opportunity to develop this expertise. I chose Goizueta for the true sense of community I felt since the first event I attended. The students and faculty I met were committed and engaged in the community. The best word to describe the Summer Experience is intense. The program exceeded my expectations by making me part of the community since day one and constantly pushing me outside of my comfort zone.
The One-Year MBA Summer Experience was incredibly rewarding. The amount of activities at first seemed overwhelming, and looking back, the one word to describe our daily schedule is intense. Being in the same classroom with my classmates all day strengthened the sense of community and the relationships that were developed during the summer. We all experienced Goizueta’s academic rigor- but we were all in it together! I encourage incoming students to try it all, get involved, and enjoy the summer- it goes by too fast!
Goizueta’s Healthcare concentration has been a critical next step in my career. I needed the industry expertise that healthcare electives and Emory’s connection with the medical field give me to make my next career change. The Directed Study program with Emory Healthcare next semester will also give me the opportunity to have a professional experience in the field even before day one at my job.I really enjoy the small, intimate, learning environment that Goizueta offers. Having professors know me by name facilitated my learning during the fast-paced summer experience. I had the opportunity to get to know all my classmates’ background and professional experiences. Developing personal relationships with everyone in the classroom helped me integrate into the program and community as a whole. I know I created long-lasting friendships this past summer!
