Biography
Nancy Ellis knows exactly where she wants her career to go—and now, thanks to Goizueta, she knows how to get there. “My ultimate career aspiration is to become the leader of a global consumer products brand,” she says. “I’ve found that successful leaders also create visionary strategies, develop teams, and leverage market insights to advance brand relevance in the marketplace.” Goizueta’s rich curriculum and strong focus on developing leadership skills improved her business perspective and emotional intelligence. That’s what ultimately helps business leaders build brand identities, motivate teams, and deliver plans that drive growth.
As an Evening MBA student, Nancy focused on classes that gave her insight into product development and consumer behavior—two areas of business she was interested in but for which she had no work experience. Those classes gave her the confidence to ask to lead and participate in new projects at work. “I would reach out to professors at Emory for advice on how to tackle these projects, and they were always eager to help,” she adds.
At Arby’s Restaurant Group, Nancy is able to pursue her passion for driving new product development and keeping consumers at the forefront of any business initiatives. Her Goizueta MBA gives Nancy perpetual food for thought as she climbs the corporate ladder.
