Biography

Goizueta opened numerous doors for Manya Garg 22MSBA, from leadership positions to connecting with faculty to improving her career skillset, she found ample opportunities to get involved. While she was looking for a business analytics masters program that offered small class size, good connections to business, a good mix of technical and soft skills and more, she also discovered a program where she found her true potential.

“I have learned a lot of technical and soft skills in a very short amount of time,” she said. “I think professors at Emory encourage you to realize your true potential – they ask a lot of you in terms of your best effort but grade fairly. I have been allowed a lot of flexibility in how to do assignments but doing it well.”

Manya had the opportunity to talk with a student ambassador before attending Goizueta, and she found it helpful to get a firsthand look at approaching graduate school and balancing the workload. She learned about the pros and the cons of the program, as well as how students at Goizueta worked with faculty. What surprised her the most while being in the MS in Business Analytics program is her connection with the professors. “Professors are personally interested in your success and will set you up for success given that you put in the work,” she said.

Working with faculty has also opened doors to the city of Atlanta where she has had the opportunity to work with business leaders. “A lot of companies have headquarters in Atlanta and those headquarters have important employees, which more likely than not, have connections with Emory,” she said. “A lot of our professors have close connections that help us network.”

Manya has valued all of her relationships she has built at Goizueta, and as she moves forward in her professional life, she hopes she will have the opportunity to come back and be a valuable resource for the Goizueta community. “I have had an amazing time at Goizueta,” she said. “I feel valued as a student and feel like everyone from the dean to my individual professors to the Career Management Center have had my best interests at heart and are setting me up for success.”
