Biography
When New Jersey-native Kevin Hou was searching for the perfect graduate program to round out his business acumen and to pivot his career from financial services to consulting, he knew he was headed south. “Having worked in both small companies and massive conglomerates, I knew I thrived in tight-knit communities. When you overlay a top 20 MBA program with a small class in a first-class city, Goizueta is the only school on the list.” In no time at all, Kevin knew most of his classmates by name and immediately felt part of the Goizueta community.
Although fundamentally different on paper, Kevin’s core team at Goizueta found ways to come together even as priorities shifted during different projects and even recruiting season. “We had section socials, study groups, and KEGS (Keeping Everyone at Goizueta Social). I was amazed at how understanding and accommodating my own team was for each other’s success. When I got my summer internship offer, my core team was the first group of people I told. The genuine support and appreciation for our fellow classmates is something I truly believe is unique to Goizueta’s unique culture.”
Throughout the program, Kevin has learned the Goizueta community extends even further off campus through a large network of alumni. Although nervous during his first coffee chat with an alum, he has found, hundreds of phone calls later, that the Goizueta network is truly door opening. “Conversations are genuinely positive because alumni are truly interested in giving back to Goizueta, and I feel confident that my network of people I can reach out to and ask a question expands far beyond my cohort but to the global Goizueta network.”
