Compared to other MS in Business Analytics programs, Goizueta offered a unique balance of academics and professional growth, something that appealed to Jessica Fu 22MSBA. “In the past year, I've gained so much academically and professionally learning from an incredibly smart and hardworking community of professors and colleagues,” she said.
Jessica worked closely with the admissions team, who streamlined the process and made expectations transparent. Additionally, she attended the MSBA Insights Day, a conference designed to display the importance of data-driven decision making and how the program helps prepare students become a business data scientist. Jessica had the opportunity to meet the current cohort of students, faculty, and staff and hear from industry partners. “The MSBA Insights Day held a panel of leaders in data science, and they discussed current trends and insights across industries,” she said.
Jessica quickly learned the MS in Business Analytics program is academically rigorous and blends business, data, and technology. Her favorite class was Introduction to Business Analytics with Assistant Professor of Information Systems & Operations Management Vilma Todri. “It was a very well-structured class that introduced us to machine learning models,” she said. “It was a rigorous course, but it was clear how we could use the concepts for different business use cases.”
Rigorous courses have helped set the stage for Jessica as she looks to chart her professional career. By working closely with the program office and alumni, she has been able to map the path that best suits her personal goals. She’s also had the opportunity to speak with industry professionals, including those in the Atlanta market. “Atlanta's rapidly expanding, and we're seeing many companies coming here to grow their business,” she said. “Atlanta offers opportunities across many different industries, and I've had the opportunity to speak with professionals in Atlanta to learn more about their field.”
