Biography
With a strong love for the stock market and the financial industry as a whole, North Carolina-native Jack McGuire knew he would be on the finance track as a BBA student at Goizueta. He liked the idea of heading to a well-known business school in a vibrant city that offered a variety of opportunities.
Not only did Jack find a collaborative and supportive community at Emory, he also found a large network that opened the door to new opportunities and connections, including meeting older students and alumni willing to guide him on his career path in finance.
Because of the wide-ranging opportunities at Goizueta, it wasn’t long before Jack found the Goizueta Investment Management Group (GIMG). GIMG is a student-managed investment fund that beyond its investment activities, brings greater financial literacy to underserved youth in the Atlanta area. “GIMG is an amazing community of friends who teach each other about finance far beyond what the classroom can give.”
Through GIMG, Jack has made several connections, including other students willing to help and offer beneficial advice. One key insight Jack gained throughout his time was from Michael Battat, fellow student and GIMG member. “He taught me the importance of making your field your passion.” Something Jack continues to strive for as he moves toward his 2021 graduation.
