Biography
Chris Fellows became a first-time father while enrolled in Goizueta’s One-Year MBA. So, besides his career goals, he had a second compelling reason to shift his career quickly into an even higher gear.
Before business school, Chris worked as an individual contributor in an analytical role. But he wanted to work with broader teams that had more externally facing exposure to clients and business objectives. He chose Goizueta not only because of its location in Atlanta, but because he also wanted a program with professors and staff who would value him and his success — however he defined it.
Because of Emory’s stellar reputation, Chris expected to find a curriculum with depth and breadth across academic disciplines. But what surprised him most was how the courses he thought might be less relevant to his work tend to be the skills he references each and every day in his role in investment banking.
“A high-quality MBA like Goizueta takes the experience you developed in your prior job and repositions it,” he says. “My time in the program prepared me to be a success on the job and a leader in the company. It continues to impact me in ways I could not have even imagined.”
