IMPACT Beyond Academics

We’ll take you beyond the classroom and into real-world business scenarios to apply what you learn. In your IMPACT experience, you’ll gain a structured approach to problem solving – one designed to yield innovative results. Project sponsors are organizations big and small – from Fortune 100 companies to non-profits to start-ups. Together with your team you’ll address a strategic issue and work to solve a real business problem for an external organization.

No course mirrors life in the modern business world more than IMPACT, Goizueta’s signature approach to MBA experiential learning. In this program, students dive into the “how” and “why” of business, then partner with for- and not-for-profit companies to work on real client-centered projects.

IMPACT provides an opportunity for students to accelerate career readiness by learning proven, structured problem-solving principles, tools, and frameworks and then applying them to real-life business situations. Clients span a wide range of industries and projects offered vary each year. Overall, projects are focused on an issue of strategic importance to the organization and provide a “messy, ambiguous problem” to be solved.

For example, past Evening MBA teams have developed a market-entry, growth, and pricing strategy for a medical device startup, developed breakthrough marketing and media recommendations to increase awareness and volume of Coca-Cola Freestyle in quick service restaurant drive-thrus, and evaluated the viability of a new international route for Delta Air Lines. Along the way, you will expand your network by working with expert business leaders and faculty who will help you to grow your skills and leverage their research, resources, and expertise.
