Biography

Steve Savage joined Emory University’s Goizueta Business School in 2023 as an Assistant Professor in the Practice of Organization and Management. A 15-year career professional in internal and crisis communication management, Steve carries a proven track record leading initiatives in higher education at both Emory University’s College of Arts and Sciences and at the 600-year-old University of St Andrews.
Passionate about great storytelling, Steve knows that communication is central to business. Through his courses, he aims to help students think about how to navigate their own stories, leveraging them to enhance, expand, and elevate their leadership potential. He has taught at Goizueta as an adjunct instructor and has given invited talks on topics such as “Persuasive Storytelling”, “How to Lead When You’re Not in Charge,” and “Forceful and Unselfish Character: A Case Competition on DEI.”
He was the recipient of the Robert T. Jones, Jr (Bobby Jones) Scholarship from the University of St Andrews to Emory University in 2008.
Steve enjoys spending time coaching Goizueta MBA students through the Leadership Reaction Course at Ft. Moore, GA each summer, loves to travel (36 states and counting!), binging new tv shows or sampling the many culinary marvels at home in Atlanta.
