Amanda Lintelman

Strategy & Operations Consultant, Slalom Consulting

Biography

Contemplating law school, Amanda Lintelman worked briefly at a Washington, D.C., law firm after graduating from college. But she quickly realized her interests were more aligned with business. Reorienting her career with a senior consultant position at IBM, the former economics and Spanish double-major decided that a Goizueta degree could fill in knowledge gaps in areas such as finance and marketing as she looked to enhance her career prospects.

Amanda found Goizueta’s experiential courses were a uniquely valuable way of learning. “The opportunities I had to work directly with clients and better understand how to effectively interpret problems, work to determine solutions, and communicate results are applicable to what I will experience when I reenter the workforce,” she says. Determined to get out of her comfort zone, she worked on a marketing-focused project where she learned to get to the root of client issues and tailor solutions to address them.

While she’s gained loads of technical skills, working through business problems in her experiential classes has given Amanda the confidence necessary to face any unexpected challenges that come her way. The relationships she’s built at Goizueta also will be invaluable to her. “The year I’ve spent at Goizueta has been instrumental in preparing me for the next phase of my career,” Amanda says. Whether it’s a year from now or 20, she knows her Goizueta experience will be able to assist her in whatever ways she needs.
