Eric Schmidt

Biography

Eric Schmidt has over 15 years of international experience structuring complex business questions, developing analytic tools and capabilities, translating analytics into actionable insights, and communicating recommendations to senior stakeholders.  At IHG, he helped start up a voice of the customer center of excellence where he led guest analytics and insights.  Currently, he leads the operations research team in IHG’s global revenue management function, responsible for developing the company’s next generation revenue management platforms. 

Prior to joining IHG, Eric worked for SunTrust Banks, where he managed the bank’s credit risk model validation team; Georgia-Pacific, where he developed pricing and revenue optimization systems for sales and category planning; and The Coca-Cola Company, where he led development of marketing investment strategies, analysis & planning frameworks, and organizational capabilities.

Eric holds bachelor, masters, and doctoral degrees in engineering from The Georgia Institute of Technology, where he studied mechanical engineering and fluid mechanics; and an MBA from Emory's Goizueta Business School, where he focused on marketing and decision sciences.  He received academic scholarships both at Georgia Institute of Technology and Goizueta Business School.  In 2011, Eric received the Marketing Faculty Honor Award as the top marketing student in that graduating class.
