Leadership Development Program

Learn from Leaders and Experience Leadership

At Goizueta, the idea of creating principled leaders isn't relegated to a single course or a passing notion; it's infused into every aspect of your experience.

We achieve this through a robust leadership curriculum, a variety of co-curricular activities, and immersive experiential learning opportunities. These provide you with the chance to learn the principles of leadership, to practice leading in a team, to give and receive one-on-one and team feedback, to reflect upon your learning, and to repeat the process.

Goizueta Business School’s mission is to be the voice, authority, and influence of meaningful business performance that ignites passion to drive lasting change, building upon the legacy of the late Coca-Cola Chairman and CEO Roberto Goizueta. We believe that leadership is a skill developed throughout life by study, experience, effective feedback, and reflection.

The goal of our Leadership Development Program is to enhance the leadership skills of our students by:

  • Deepening their self-awareness and understanding of their strengths and areas of potential development
  • Provide experiences to work in teams, be an effective team member, understand how to develop a high performing team, be a peer leader, and experience being a team leader in various settings

We believe that leadership is a skill developed throughout life by study, experience, effective feedback, and reflection.

Leader in Residence Program

The Goizueta Leader in Residence (LIR) program is designed to have distinguished leaders with significant senior leadership experience interact with our Full-Time, Evening and and Executive MBA students as well as our undergraduate students in various ways. These typically include guest lecturing in selected classes, conducting meetings with students on career or management related issues, and participating in panels on selected topics. The range of these activities is driven by the interests of the LIR and the needs of the school.

Each year, Dean Erika James invites a few selected leaders to be join the Leader-In-Residence Program. The general format requires that as a LIR volunteer their time and expertise spending a minimum of one (1) visit during the Fall and Spring semesters, and summer term at GBS.

Our Associate Dean for Leadership Development, Ken Keen, manages this program on behalf of Dean James and the Goizueta Business School.
