Biography
Prior to joining Emory, Yue worked as a research assistant at the Lee Kong Chian School of Business, Singapore Management University (SMU, 2021–2022), and earned a Master of Research from University College London (UCL, 2021), an MS from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC, 2020), and a BA from Sichuan University (SCU, 2017).
Yue's research lies at the intersection of operations management and empirical methods, with a focus on supply chain networks, sustainability, and healthcare operations. He studies how different forms of information (ranging from firm disclosures and campaign narratives to policy changes) shape operational and financial outcomes. Methodologically, his work combines causal inference with machine learning techniques, including applications of large language models to textual and visual data, to examine firm behavior, network dynamics, and unstructured information. Current projects investigate value destruction and recovery from supply chain disruptions, the role of risk exposures in shaping firms’ environmental strategies, and the effectiveness of AI-assisted medical crowdfunding.
