Biography
When Rene Meza was looking to transition from the world of oil field services to investment banking, he knew it wouldn’t be easy. With little experience, and only a basic professional background, Rene needed to find a program that would help him develop a business acumen, from the ground up.
“The Goizueta MBA helped me in a number of ways,” says Rene. “Both from a career aspect, as well as through academics and network connections.” Before Rene even stepped foot on campus, Goizueta’s Career Management Center worked with him to revamp his resume, and helped Rene better articulate his story—from what he was doing prior to his career change, to why he wanted to move into the world of investment banking. Through Goizueta’s on-campus recruiting, Rene was able to secure an internship from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, and later a full-time offer. Although his transition is now complete, as Rene has fulfilled his goal of becoming an investment banker, his career journey is just getting started.
