Biography

Evening MBA student Brandi Garced knows how to solve problems. With a background in industrial engineering and software consulting, she knows what it takes to find the perfect solution. However, as she started to move forward on her career path, she found a new problem she needed help fixing. While she was refining her current skillset, she found she was missing key business acumen that would help her move up in her career. “That's when I decided it would be really helpful to go back to school,” Brandi says. “I'm a nerd, and I love to learn so it would be great to learn that side of the business in order to continue to move up and be successful as a leader in my organization.”

Goizueta became an obvious choice for Brandi as she was trying to stay local to Atlanta and meet new people. Additionally, with the help of Goizueta’s resources, Brandi soon made the decision to pivot her career into the nonprofit space. “[Goizueta] has a focus on Social Enterprise and the Business & Society Institute, something that really resonated with me, especially in 2022 with all that's going on in the world. I love to look at business through that lens and with that consideration, I think it's so powerful and could only make you a better leader."

Many students look to build upon their leadership skills during their time at Goizueta, including Brandi. She joined the Delta Leadership Coaching Fellows program, a leadership opportunity for students to understand, practice and enhance their skills through team and individual feedback. “As a fellow in the program, I have this really cool opportunity to stretch this coaching muscle that I haven't had the opportunity to do so much at work,” Brandi says. “I realized that being a manager is very different from a mentor, which is very different from a coach and to be able to really stretch those muscles in a way that has never been asked of me in my job was really, really powerful.”
