Goizueta IMPACT is our signature approach to experiential learning for MBAs, developed to give your career a running start by empowering you to put into practice the theories, frameworks and leadership skills learned in the program. The coursework teaches you the “how” of business and provides you with proven tools and frameworks that enable you to frame problems, identify the relevant issues, structure your work, focus your analyses and get to the bottom of the problem. You will learn how to synthesize your findings and package them into a compelling communication that will persuade your key stakeholders to take action. Our unparalleled access to the Atlanta business community coupled with an accomplished global alumni network means you’ll have many options for a real client project – from Fortune 500 companies to international nonprofits to successful start-ups.
How do projects work?
You’ll work in teams of three to six students to address a critical client issue on any range of topics across industries and functions. Then, you’ll partner with client liaisons to review your findings and obtain feedback, letting you form real relationships that lead to real insights. Throughout the project, you are guided by our expert faculty who provide team and leadership coaching to cultivate your skills and capabilities – all while leveraging their extensive research, resources and expertise.
Your project culminates at Goizueta Client Day where teams present their findings and recommendations directly to clients, business leaders, alumni, faculty and staff, providing unique access to these business leaders and invaluable experience.
We have partnered with more than 150 clients since the program began, including:
American Cancer Society / Atlanta Thrashers / Beats by Dr. Dre / Chubb Insurance / Cox Communications / Delta Air Lines / FOCUS Brands / GE / Georgia-Pacific / IBM / Kimberly-Clark / Mohawk Home / Newell-Rubbermaid / Rollins / SAP / Siemens / Solvay Pharmaceuticals / SunTrust / The Coca-Cola Company / The Home Depot / Turner / UPS / The United Way / The Weather Channel / WebMD
Goizueta IMPACT Field Electives
You will have the opportunity to solve an issue of strategic importance for a client in the field or discipline of your choice. The semester kicks off with a common Goizueta IMPACT boot camp where you go deeper into project and client relationship management. You will work with internal and external leadership coaches to make sure your team launches successfully. Throughout the semester, expert faculty and coaching resources support the teams in developing their insights and recommendations. At the end of the semester, project teams present their recommendations to panels of clients, other business leaders, faculty and staff. In 2016, Goizueta Client Day brought over 250 judges to campus, providing a tremendous opportunity to connect with the broader business community and showcase our student talent.
