Andrea Hershatter is Senior Associate Dean and Director of the BBA Program in Emory’s Goizueta Business School. She has led this program for the last fifteen years and has helped to achieve its seventh consecutive BusinessWeek ranking in the Top 10 (five in the top 5) among undergraduate business programs. Three of the most recent programmatic initiatives she led are the creation of three joint concentrations with Emory College, the development of a multi-dimensional holistic leadership co-curriculum, and the total revision of the undergraduate Business Communications core course. Andrea holds a faculty position in the Organization and Management area, where she teaches entrepreneurship, a course she has also taught as a visiting faculty member in the Helsinki School of Economics. Her research focuses on intellectual capital, creativity, corporate innovation and cultural agency, passions she combines with a strong interest in popular culture and music. She is a frequent lecturer and consultant on the Millennial generation, and chaired the Graduate Management Admission Council's strategic advisory group on undergraduate student outreach. Andrea currently serves on the advisory board of the Economic Empowerment Initiative, a non-profit organization focused on inner-city youth, and the Bloomberg Assessment Advisory Board as well as on the boards of multiple entrepreneurial ventures including Campus MovieFest, the world's largest student film festival. She is co-author of Business at the Speed of Molasses, a book about vision-based strategies that is being revised for publication. Andrea is additionally active in a wide array of professional organizations and routinely holds leadership roles on multiple Emory committees. She is the recipient of the university-wide Emory Williams Distinguished Teaching Award, the Donald Keough Award for Excellence and the Goizueta Outstanding Staff Impact Award, recognizing the most significant contributions to the School's growth, development and success during it 90 year history.
