Biography
Atlanta-native Madeline Davis appreciates being challenged. While she enjoyed working as a consultant in the banking industry and being exposed to a variety of clients and technologies, she knew she wanted more. Madeline entered the Full-Time program at Goizueta with the hope to broaden her horizons and gain additional leadership experience. “I realized I was in a job that a lot of people would want,” Madeline says. “I was able to manage people and learn new things, but I was not challenging myself. I wasn't exposing myself to people of diverse backgrounds with diverse ways of thinking, so just the act of coming to business school has reinvigorated me and brought me back to myself in terms of someone who wants to be challenged.”
While she enjoys being challenged at work, Madeline found that her desire to be challenged complemented her desire to learn. Throughout her time in the program, she found herself pleasantly surprised by how much she enjoyed the academic components. “What I was surprised to find out is that I actually love being a student,” she says. “I like sitting in class, asking questions, doing the homework, and I think it's certainly now reminding me that I will be a student for life.”
Madeline plans to take all of her experiences and teachings and apply them to her new role as a generalist strategy consultant at Bain & Company in Atlanta. “What I'm really excited about for that opportunity is taking my initial consulting training and what I've learned in business school, and really apply it to some of the largest companies in the world as they think about their go-forward strategy and hopefully continue to build on the great foundation I have so far.
