Biography
Goizueta is known for having an engaged alumni network and community outside its walls, but inside, each class size is a tightknit, energetic community allowing current students to build deep relationships. Lee Silver 23MBA found exactly what he was looking for at Goizueta – a welcoming community and personalized attention. “I loved that Goizueta had smaller class sizes than most of the other programs I was exploring,” he said. “This would help me truly get to know and learn from most all of my classmates, and Emory’s size was ideal for that.”
Lee applied to MBA programs during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, making it challenging to visit schools, sit in classes, and meet current students. However, with the help of a student ambassador, he quickly felt like Goizueta was a good fit. “Speaking with the ambassador about the student experience, I grew more confident that Goizueta was right for me and excited to join the class of 2023,” he said.
Lee’s need for community extended into his hometown of Atlanta, where he hopes to become a leader in Atlanta’s business community to help the city’s business scene thrive. “Atlanta is the business capital of the South, and one of the most dynamic and thriving business centers in the entire country,” Lee said. “So much is happening here already, and with new companies coming to town every day (both emerging and established companies), the future opportunities are incredibly bright. I don’t think there’s any better place I could be to achieve that goal than Goizueta.”
Goizueta recently created The Roberto C. Goizueta Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation, a center designed to foster innovation and fuel entrepreneurship among students and within industry while
building relationships between students and business leaders. “With so many local leaders as Emory alumni who are actively looking to maintain a connection with the Emory network, the relationship between Goizueta and the local business scene is deep, and students have so many avenues through which to take advantage of it,” Lee said.
Even after his time at Goizueta, Lee hopes to maintain his close relationships with his classmates and future business leaders.
“I can’t wait to learn all that I can from my classmates and to continue to maintain these relationships into the future like so many other Goizueta alumni through the years,” he said.
