How it Works

Hands on, fast, immersive, and actionable

In two days, we take participants from hearing about design thinking as a concept to having used it in several fast-paced interactive exercises and a design project, making them ready to bring it back to their organizations. We bring in leading design thinking practitioners to coach participants in teams on their project, to lock in specific learnings. The last section of the course focuses on helping each participant build a specific plan to incorporate learning into their organization in the days that follow. The course applies to our Certificates in Strategy and Innovation and qualifies as an elective for Leadership and Excellence in Business Certificates.
How it Works
  • Hear it!

Discuss and define innovation as a repeatable business discipline. Understand what design thinking really means, and what it looks like in the real world.
  • Do it!

Engage in an interactive team-based exercise to solve a real business problem. Engage real people, understand needs, create and rapidly test prototypes, then iterate.
  • Do it again!

Engage in an interactive team-based exercise to solve a business problem using the design thinking principles learned. Engage people, understand needs, ideate possible prototypes, and test concepts.
  • Apply it!

Discuss best practices in bringing design thinking to organizations, then identify several specific experiments each participant can try at work in the week that follows.
