Her passion for analysis and knack for negotiation led Briana Soria 15MBA to Goizueta's marketing concentration. Although she didn't know what to expect from her Management Practice elective, she knew of the professors' research in the social media space and decided to take a chance.
"Businesses are moving away from 'what feels right' or what worked in the past to truly data-driven decisions. Being able to effectively communicate recommendations based on complex analysis is a skill Goizueta has helped me develop. Now I'm even more confident presenting solutions - and I know that is the key to success in my career."
As a born master negotiator, I came to Goizueta with a good grasp on soft skills and discovered the value of social media data. Using tools like regression, cluster analysis, and choice modeling from my core classes, the MAC class sharpened my analytical and presentation skills, helping me make complex recommendations in a language that made sense to clients. When my team pitched our Thought Experiment findings to The Coca-Cola Company, it was a dialogue. We discussed the business hurdles of our proposal just like it was a real client meeting. It proved to us that prior to examining the data you have to take the time to think creatively about what kinds of ways you can utilize it.
