BusinessWeek ranks Emory’s Executive MBA Program 7 Worldwide

ATLANTA (November 2, 2007) – In BusinessWeek’s biannual ranking of Executive MBA programs, Emory University’s Goizueta Business School ranks number 7 among all Executive MBA programs globally, and number 1 in the Southeast. In the previous ranking the Executive MBA program was number 2 in the Southeast and 6 in the global ranking.

The graduates evaluate the program in three key areas and the EMBA program received an “A-plus” in all three: teaching, curriculum and support.

Ed Leonard, Associate Dean of the W. Cliff Oxford Executive MBA Program, said, “We’re very pleased that our program rose to the rank of number one in the Southeast. Our students place a high value on their experience in the program. The class of 2007 made some extraordinary contributions that will positively impact the future development of our program. We are extremely grateful for their efforts and suggestions on how we can continue to build the best EMBA experience anywhere in the world. We look forward to their continued contributions as active alumni.

Leonard continued, “I am also pleased that we improved our ranking by the other Deans and Directors of EMBA Programs. It is gratifying to see them rank us among the best EMBA programs in the world.”

BusinessWeek surveyed 2,693 Executive MBA students and 51 EMBA program directors. Graduates were surveyed on various measures, including teaching quality, career services, and curriculum. EMBA program directors were asked to list their top 10 programs overall.

Goizueta Business School’s W. Cliff Oxford Executive MBA is a 16-month weekend program for upper- and middle-level managers. Students take four or five courses each term, and they are in class all day Friday and Saturday, every other week, and on a handful of Thursdays. The Goizueta Business School also offers a modular format of its top-ranked Executive MBA program. The Modular Executive MBA is a 20-month program comprised of 9 residency periods. Two-thirds of the program is face-to-face interaction with faculty and other classmates, with one-third distance learning.

The Goizueta curriculum combines a rigorous core experience with innovative approaches to internationalism, entrepreneurship, and leadership. In addition to the two formats of the W. Cliff Oxford Executive MBA, the school also offers an Evening MBA, a Two-Year MBA, a One-Year MBA, an undergraduate degree and a doctoral degree, together with a set of innovative non-degree Executive Development programs.
