Goizueta Business School Undergraduate Program
Advances to Number 12 in U.S. News & World Report

ATLANTA (August 17, 2007) – Emory University’s Goizueta Business School advanced one position to rank 12th in U.S. News & World Report’s annual listing of “ America’s Best Business Programs.” In the listing of best national universities, Emory University also climbed one position to number 17.

“We are committed to developing principled leaders who are well-rounded, and we’re honored that U.S. News recognizes our undergraduate business program for providing a strong student experience,” said Larry Benveniste, dean of Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.

Last spring BusinessWeek ranked Goizueta number 4 in its listing of undergraduate business programs.

The U.S. News ‘best business program’ rankings are based on a survey of deans and senior faculty at undergraduate business programs accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Participants were asked to rate the quality of programs they were familiar with on a scale of 1 (marginal) to 5 (distinguished). The rankings are based solely on this peer survey; 44 percent of those surveyed responded.

“We’re delighted to note the continued positive trajectory in the public’s perception of our BBA Program. We’re equally delighted to note Emory’s increasing stature,” said Andrea Hershatter, associate dean and director of Goizueta’s undergraduate business program.

“In addition to augmenting the range of academic offerings in the business school, this year BBA graduates have enjoyed unprecedented placement success,” Hershatter said. “We continue to be dedicated to enhancing the intellectual, personal and professional growth of our students, and preparing them to make meaningful contributions to their organizations and to society as a whole.”

Emory’s Goizueta Business School is home to an undergraduate degree program, a two-year MBA, a one-year MBA, an evening MBA, the W. Cliff Oxford executive MBA (weekend and modular formats) and a doctoral degree. The School also offers a portfolio of custom-designed executive development courses for major international corporations, including The Coca-Cola Company, The Home Depot, Intercontinental Hotels, Lockheed Martin, and Siemens.
