Class Gifts

Class giving makes it possible for Goizueta alumni to make a gift to the school as a group on behalf of their graduating class, at the time of their graduation ceremony as well as during their reunion years.

The Class Gift Tradition

The tradition of the class gift offers new alumni the chance to transition from their roles as students to a new role as owners and caretakers of the Goizueta brand. The class gift is also a promise made by each graduating class to the students who follow them, to provide opportunities for future students and to continue to enhance the value of the Goizueta degree.

Traditionally at the time of graduation each year, Goizueta's graduating classes rally together to present their first class gift to Goizueta Business School as an acknowledgement of the value of their education and experience at the school. As part of the class gift tradition, donors have the option to pledge their class gift and pay over the next three years.

Why Give a Class Gift?

  • Tuition dollars can't always cover the cost of new and needed programs. The difference is made up by the Goizueta community through efforts such as class gift campaigns.
  • Goizueta does not receive any state funding. Private contributions are crucial for Goizueta to compete with peer business schools.
  • Class gifts show the Goizueta community that alumni share fully in the commitment to the School's mission to provide valuable MBA experiences.
  • Because Goizueta's endowment is significantly smaller than those of our peer institutions.
  • Studies have shown that donors who pledge as students are three times as likely to pledge as alumni and give three times as much as those who do not give as students. Alumni giving is critical to the continued improvement and success of the school.
  • Giving at a level of $500 or more provides membership to the Goizueta Partners Society, which offers significant benefits such as special networking events and plaque recognition at Goizueta.
  • Many corporations offer matching gift programs that enable donors to double or even triple their gift to Goizueta.
  • Gift pledges are tax deductible for U.S. taxpayers, who can offset their gift against personal taxes.
