Chiang Chiang, Brandon Lock, Jaclyn Stamer, Katie Wartman and Xuhua Zhou, Team Airborne Auditor won $1000 at the PricewaterhouseCooper's xACT Case Completion at Goizueta on October 30. They now for a chance in the national competition. Bryce Block, Kanishka Daryanani, Ryan Leon, Mike Seidman and Chad Thayer also won $1000 as the Runner-up team A Valuable Insight.
Congratulations to the Honorable Mention teams - Sulfi Ahmed, Kenny Daniel, Jesse Grossman, James Jin and Isabella Sun from Blitzkrieg Solutions and Jennifer Bernstein, Nicole Horoszko, Stephen Ratner, Carli Simkin and Christiana Ting from GAAP Diggers.
Daniel Demers, Shawn Shivalkar and Matej Varga captured First Place at the 4th Annual Nationwide Fisher Biz Quiz with the Wall St. Journal. Daniel won First Place in the individual Marketplace competition, Matej earned First Place in the Personal Journal and Shawn secured Second Place in Money and Investing.
Julian Snow and Jacob Wooten were the Essay Award Winners at the Eller Ethics Case Competition, hosted by the University of Arizona.
Gabrielle Broadie won the 2009 Black MBA Diversity Scholarship, in the amount of $1500, sponsored by the Black MBA Association at Emory and supported by the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority to promote diversity.
Ariel Ball was awarded a $10,000 academic scholarship from Commercial Real Estate Women, a nationwide network of industry professionals. The scholarship includes a summer internship, as well as mentoring and networking opportunities. Ariel is co-president of the BBA Real Estate Club.
Alberto Battistoni's (International Exchange Student 2008-2009 from Bocconi University of Milan) team won the University of Navarra Undergraduate Case Competition that took place in Pamplona, Spain. The subject of the competition was "Entrepreneurship: Act Locally, Think Globally." Alberto completed Entrepreneurship and New Venture Management while at Goizueta. Professor Hershatter served as a team advisor.
