Dear BBA Parents,
I am excited and grateful to serve as this year's Undergraduate Business Council President. As a Council, we aspire to successfully engage BBAs. Initiatives we implement every year range from Goizueta Shadows, the Undergraduate Business School Leadership Conference (UBSLC) and the Kegs in the Courtyard tradition. The Goizueta Shadows Program allows students to find out what life in the professional sphere is really like. The program offers the opportunity to gain on-site experience in students’ area depths as well as build his or her professional network. Students spend a day "shadowing" an alumni or professional at a participating accounting, consulting, marketing, or finance firm in the Atlanta area.
The UBSLC continues to expose BBA students to leading business thinkers and practitioners, invaluable workshops in leadership development, cases, and other interactive exercises. The annual conference participants come from the top 25 undergraduate business school programs in the United States ranked by Business Week as well as leading international institutions in England, Italy, France, Ireland, Colombia, Chile, China, Singapore, and other countries.
Finally, our weekly Keg in the Courtyard allows students to socially connect to others in the undergraduate class in a casual environment. Often corporate-sponsored, Kegs in the Courtyard give BBAs the ability to network with professionals and peers alike. It is our mission as a Council to promote the community that Goizueta has already provided for us. We continually welcome feedback, so please contact me at Pace_Austin@bus.emory.edu if you have any comments or questions about the Council or its initiatives.
I look forward to another amazing school year with the Goizueta Undergraduate Business School. Thank you.
Pace Austin, BBA10
