Gregory Waymire

Gregory Waymire's current research interests are focused on the economic function of basic accounting technologies and practices. His work explores the impact of basic recordkeeping, the relation between accounting principles and the brain’s evaluation of exchange, the spontaneous emergence of norms and conventions in accounting practice, and the role of language in promoting economic exchange under uncertainty. His research has been published in the Journal of Accounting Research, The Accounting Review, Accounting, Organizations & Society, Accounting Horizons, Contemporary Accounting Research, Journal of Accounting and Economics, and Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, among others. View profile
