Goizueta is dedicated to building principled leaders who achieve not only success, but also significance. Our goal is not limited to creating business leaders. Rather, we’re focused on helping students like you become well-rounded, principled leaders who can transform the business world—and society—for the better.
“I have been able to gain the skills needed to make myself a better leader today and tomorrow.”
Laura Lee Stubblefield, 10EvMBA
At Goizueta, the idea of creating principled leaders isn't relegated to a single course or a passing notion, it's infused into every aspect of your MBA experience. Every student participates in our Leader Development course. You'll delve into the core values that drive principled, effective leaders. You'll also explore other key leadership areas such as self-awareness, resilience, high performing teams, influencing others, and giving and receiving feedback. From there, you'll dig into more advanced topics, such as leading and facilitating teams, coaching, mentoring, and ethics.
The Evening MBA Leadership Academy for Working Professionals is for students who want to maximize their leadership development during their time at Goizueta. You can apply to the Academy as early as the fall of your second year. The Academy helps you define your leadership style and hone the skills necessary for you to become a future leader. In partnership with the program office and their employers, past participants have created personalized development plans and worked through complex leadership issues in private coaching sessions and group workshops. Our program is designed to incorporate theory into your real-life situations and provide support as you grow as a leader. Some activities include:
Despite busy schedules, many of our Evening students take advantage of the opportunity to put their leadership skills into practice through clubs, associations, and committees. All Evening MBA students are members of the Graduate Evening Business Association (GEvBA), an organization dedicated to giving students a voice in decisions regarding the program. GEvBA’s student-run committees also provide opportunities for student leadership. Committees include the Academic Advisory Committee, which facilitates student interests on all academic issues; the Social Committee, which plans social and philanthropic activities such as family day at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, outings to Braves games and after class networking socials; and the Career Advisory Committee, which contributes to the continued growth in career development for the Evening MBA population.
Our speakers series gives our community the opportunity to meet, hear from, and interact with leaders working at the highest echelons of corporate leadership around the world. Recent speakers include:
