Designed for talented, high-potential executives with significant work experience, the Modular format preserves 70 percent of the face-to-face classroom and team interaction that is the hallmark of a top-ranked MBA program, while giving you greater freedom and flexibility through distributed learning. In the Modular format, you refine and strengthen critical leadership and communication skills, preparing you for even greater success both in your career and your life.

While You're On Campus

As a Modular EMBA student, you attend nine weeklong (Sunday-Saturday) residencies in Atlanta. During your residencies, classes are held during the day, and most evenings are reserved for project and team activities. The program also includes an eight- to 10-day Global Business Practices experience completed in selected global cities each year. Past cities include Shanghai, Buenos Aires, Barcelona, and Istanbul.

On-campus classes are held at our state-of-the-art business school on the Emory University campus, located just 15 minutes from downtown Atlanta and 30 minutes from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. While on campus, if you choose the residency option, you will stay at the Emory Conference Center conveniently located on Emory's campus.

While You're Away

The distributed-learning portion of the Modular format is delivered online between each residency. The residencies are spaced approximately every 10-12 weeks. During breaks, you communicate with professors and classmates via distributed learning technologies, completing individual and team assignments. Distance learning could include:

  • Multimedia lectures
  • Team case of individual write-ups
  • Blackboard discussions
  • Interactive study lessons
  • Simulations
