BUS 652 - Healthcare Operations and Technology Management
The U.S. healthcare sector continues to struggle with rising healthcare costs and increasing concerns about the quality and value of care provided to consumers. This course will provide students with the opportunity use the principles of operations management to improve efficiency and the quality and value of care provided in the healthcare sector. The course will use qualitative and quantitative principles of operations management to practice formulating solutions to frequently encountered problems. The topics covered in the course include: designing healthcare delivery systems, capacity planning and decision making under uncertainty, measuring and monitoring quality, process failure, learning and improvement, and the role of technology in improving healthcare delivery.
