BUS 636 - Entrepreneurship

This course is designed for future entrepreneurs, consultants, investment bankers, private equity investors or advisors.  How do you realize value from a good business concept or idea?  What business ideas are worth investing in?  How do you finance a growth company?  The course will take a business idea from its inception to its exit, the value-creation life-cycle, focusing on the practical aspects of discriminating between good and bad business ideas; raising growth capital; and at the right time, exiting through a sale or IPO.  It will integrate strategic management and corporate finance in practical simulations with particular emphasis on how e-commerce has changed the traditional rules of entrepreneurship. The course culminates in writing a business plan.
