Goizueta Team Wins 2009 NAIOP Competition
A team of students from Goizueta Business School recently won the 2009 NAIOP Competition. The winning team consisted of Alex Curlet 10MBA, Billy Glisson 09MBA, Bill Mealor 09MBA, Dana Howle Sample 09MBA, Porter Jones 09MBA, and Harvey Wadsworth 10EvMBA.
According to participating commercial real estate students, the NAIOP University Real Estate Challenge is perhaps their most important academic competition. Offering an opportunity to compete against teams from other academic institutions, the program presents teams of top graduate students with a real-life commercial real estate situation: they must perform an in-depth analysis to maximize return on investment, evaluate cost structure, research design and construction models and perform other analytical functions. Not an easy task, but our nation's top real estate student prospects have shown time and time again that they're up for the challenge.
NAIOP's Georgia Chapter's Annual School Challenge has become such a staple that the seminar offers continuing education credits. Now in its 16th year, the competition spans five universities and taps the expertise of many NAIOP member volunteers. Based on real-world office and industrial real estate in Atlanta, students have five weeks to research and prepare a written proposal or solution to a panel of judges.
