Alumni Board Corner: Chip Gross - Outgoing GBS Alumni Board President

It seems like yesterday I was writing to kickoff 2008 and celebrate the major efforts we as a board had planned for 2008. Now, I am transitioning the leadership of the Board to a new president, Sarah O'Brien 03EMBA. Sarah is a phenomenal member of the board and has a strong record of achievement. Whether as current CFO of Carestream Health, Inc. or when she was founding the Executive Women of Goizueta, Sarah has always risen to the challenge. Sarah is the first Executive MBA president of the Goizueta Alumni Board which also gives the board a new perspective. Steve Greenfield 04EvMBA will become the new Vice-President for the board and he has also been a strong contributor to the board. Most of you have probably seen them leading the Mentor Program for 2008.

I have no doubt that 2009 is going to bring a large amount of uncertainty with the economy churning and companies rapidly transforming. The Alumni Board will be working to ensure that alumni career services and alumni development will be there to help those alums who do go through transition in 2009. As mentioned during the November Alumni Awards Dinner, the board is also creating a new scholarship to help support incoming and current MBA, BBA, EMBA and EvMBA students. We are also planning to continue to improve the alumni activities outside of Atlanta. New York, DC and Chicago are a few places we are planning activities in 2009. I hope everyone has had a relaxing holiday and is looking strategically at 2009!
