Announcing Affinity Groups for Goizueta Alumni
Dear Goizueta Alumni in Atlanta,
While speaking with alumni of different programs over the past several months, many people have discussed the possibility of meeting fellow alumni who have similar professional interests or experience. In conjunction with the Goizueta Alumni Board, we are transforming the Atlanta Goizueta Group into a series of alumni groups based on professional affinity. We're all extremely excited to be working with Atlanta-area alumni to create these new informal groups that will have regular events - both social and educational - throughout the school year. Some groups have been around for several years, some are starting now. Either way, we think this is a great way for our alumni in Atlanta to get together to support each other and Goizueta Business School. More groups will be forming in the coming months.

What are Affinity Groups?
Goizueta's Alumni Relations Office and Alumni Board wanted a way to bring alumni together by areas of interest. Starting with several alumni-run groups already in existence such as Executive Women of Goizueta, Goizueta Alumni in Real Estate and the Goizueta Alumni Entrepreneurship Network, several additional groups have been created. Many affinity groups follow these guidelines annually: sponsoring at least one on-campus events, sponsoring at least one off-campus event and having an online presence on a social networking site such as LinkedIn, Facebook, or Emory E-Connection. These affinity groups offer participants a forum to enhance their professional network, enrich their personal and professional experience through ongoing education, and impact the Goizueta and Emory communities at large.
Why would I want to get involved?
Network participants exchange ideas and information about professional paths, industry trends, and the local/regional business environment. You can participate in networks of interest to you regardless of your experience, and getting involved now means you are helping to build the networks from the ground up. These will be opportunities throughout the year to assist students, faculty and school-sponsored programs.
Who can participate in Affinity Groups?
Goizueta alumni, faculty and friends are encouraged to participate. The value of the network is bringing those audiences together to share information professionally and personally.
What if I don't live in Atlanta?
Affinity groups have pages on various social networking sites, particularly LinkedIn. Join the Goizueta Business Schools on LinkedIn, Facebook, or Emory E-Connection.
Where can I get more information?
